For those that know me, they know one of my love languages is Gift Giving. Finding that right gift is one of the ways I get to show just how much that person means to me. It brings me joy – I mean I get down right giddy – watching a loved one open a gift when I know I nailed it, when I found that perfect thing that I know they are going to love.
There is just one problem. I want to get my loved ones the best items – something thoughtful, original, perfect. And over the past few years, I noticed all the pressure I put on myself to find that perfect gift slowly ate away at my joy until there wasn’t much left. I started to see gifts as something I had to do instead of something I wanted to do. But finding the right gift wasn’t always this hard, there wasn’t always this much pressure.
My hope is that by refocusing on the joy of Gift Giving, by documenting and sharing all my tools and ideas for all things gifts, I can help remove a bit of that pressure, and bring back my own joy in Gift Giving. Who knows, maybe I’ll even spark or reignite a bit of that joy within you too along the way.
